  • Hardie Alcozer is looking for an early to mid-career associate licensed in Texas to join our team! We’re a smart, diverse, practical, and forward-thinking firm serving Austin and Central Texas. If you’re a self-starter, team player, and eager to take on new challenges, we’d love to talk to you.

We are a 10-lawyer Austin-based estate planning, probate, and fiduciary litigation boutique. The foundation of our practice is providing expertise and compassion, ultimately creating security, assurance, and ease for our clients. Our lawyers include former Big Law partners, past-PI attorneys, and federal law clerks. The key take-aways about us:

    • Interesting Work: We handle cutting-edge matters for a varied client roster. Our client base includes your everyday family needing legal assistance, all the way to large privately held companies and businesses based in Texas.

    • Diversity: We have a strong commitment to diversity at our firm. While we pride ourselves in being a woman founded firm, we are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants of any sex, race, age, religion, disability, national origin, or socioeconomic class.

    • Teamwork: We place a premium on teamwork. Cohesiveness, crowdsourcing, and camaraderie allow us to achieve excellent results for our clients.

    • Flexibility: We’re not burdened by bureaucracy, and our work practices are guided by what is needed for the task at hand—not by traditional law firm rules and culture. The majority of our staff are parents. We allow work from home and flexible hours, a casual dress code, and a generous PTO policy. We also offer 4 Mental Health Days per year, placing an emphasis on taking care of yourself first.

    What we are looking for:

    • The ideal candidate has 2+ years of clerkships or experience in a firm.

    • Someone who functions well in a team, who will run smaller matters and will take ownership of portions of large matters, and whose mindset is that every matter they’re staffed on is “their” case.

    • A bright and curious mind, humble enough to understand what you don’t know and driven enough to seek out the answers.

    • Excellent communication skills, a drive to win, and a sense of humor.

    • Trial experience and prior clerkship experience are a plus.

    Requirements:

    • Licensed in Texas.

    • Excellence in performing in-depth analysis of law and facts.

    • Outstanding legal writing skills.

    Details:

    • 1600 hours/year.

    • Benefits include healthcare, 401(k), and parental leave.

    • Competitive base salary with available bonus.

To Apply: Please email your cover letter, resume, and two writing samples to [email protected]

We are fully committed to the importance of diversity within the legal profession and strongly encourage the interest of diverse candidates in the firm. Consistent with our commitment to diversity, all qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, sexual preference, physical or mental disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristics protected by law.
