How it started — and how it’s grown

We help individuals, families, and fiduciaries navigate some of life’s most consequential legal moments — with clarity, care, and steady guidance.

Hardie Alcozer was founded in 2006 on the belief that legal services don’t have to be complicated, impersonal, or intimidating. What began as a two-person practice has grown into a team of 30 professionals serving clients across Texas — while intentionally preserving the small-firm feel and the values that shaped its growth in the first place.

Today, the firm is led by Riley Alcozer, Hallie Graves, and Ellen Dickerson, whose combined experience and judgment guide matters involving family legacies, fiduciary responsibility, and significant financial interests.

Brooke Hardie, Founding Partner Emeritus, remains an integral part of the firm’s legacy. Her vision, values, and commitment to excellence continue to shape our culture and the way we serve our clients.

Collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and a client-centered approach remain central to how we work. While clients typically work closely with one or two attorneys, our work is never done in isolation — attorneys regularly share insights and perspectives to ensure each client benefits from the collective strength of the firm.

How we help

We tailor our legal services to the contours of your situation so you can move forward with confidence toward a more secure, satisfying future.

When clients come to us, they’re often in the midst of overwhelm or indecision — and for good reason. Estate-related legal matters can be complex and emotionally charged, whether you’re planning ahead, settling a loved one’s estate, or navigating a dispute with significant financial or familial implications. Our role is to guide you through these circumstances with clarity and care.

When the stakes are high and you’re trusting someone with deeply personal financial and family matters, who you choose to represent you matters. We take that responsibility seriously — helping clients understand their options, anticipate consequences, and make informed decisions they can stand  behind.

The antidote

Patient, reliable legal counsel truly oriented around you.

Our personalized approach honors clients as full people with unique stories — not faceless transactions. We take the time to understand the full context of each matter, including the legal, financial, and human considerations, so our guidance is thoughtful, practical, and grounded in experience.

By being curious, engaged, and transparent, we help clients identify the “why” behind what they’re asking for, understand their options, and  evaluate whether a different course of action may better align with their goals or priorities.

And because many clients come to us while grieving a loss, navigating family conflict, or feeling anxious about the future, we strive to bring steadiness to each interaction. We ensure clients feel heard and informed, while we take care of what needs to be taken care of — with care, diligence, and respect for the responsibility entrusted to us.

“I recommend them most highly! Everyone I have worked with there has been skillful, professional, approachable, punctual, and organized.
