Beth Scherer

Associate

It’s ironic that Beth so dislikes romantic comedies because her resume reads like the quintessential, multi-talented, impossibly appealing protagonist in a Nora Ephron film. Her legal calling was rooted in assisting immigrants obtain visas and writing about First Amendment issues, both for non-profits. Beth has since built an impressive career litigating in over six areas of law, with the most recent being fiduciary litigation with Hardie Alcozer. And boy has she found her groove. Whether it’s defending an Executor who is being second-guessed by a beneficiary or bringing suit against a Trustee who has allegedly breached a duty, Beth’s years of litigation experience, her ability to handle a hefty caseload at all times, and her tendency to be her clients’ rock as they weather an unwelcome storm has only solidified the fact that she has found her professional calling.

But it wouldn’t be a true rom com if the female lead wasn’t a little quirky. Take for instance the fact that Beth lives in the Breakfast Taco Capital of the World and yet refuses to eat anything other than her special oatmeal recipe for breakfast every...single...day. Temper that character flaw with the fact that Beth and her husband were foster parents for years until they found out they were pregnant and hit pause. But darnit if her daugher didn’t come into the picture, steal their hearts, and make the perfect sister for their newborn, who loves her lentils....especially when she’s covered in them. With a loving family like that, turns out Beth is more like the main character in “The Notebook” (her absolute least favorite movie in the world) than she cares to admit.
